Cyril Lignac (born November 5, 1977) is a very famous French chef. He owns several popular restaurants and pastry shops in Paris, France.
You might also know him from his many cooking shows on French TV. He has written over 40 cookbooks, selling millions of copies! He even has his own cooking workshop called Cuisine Attitude, where people can learn to cook and bake.

About Cyril Lignac
Becoming a Chef
Cyril Lignac started learning to cook in his home region of Aveyron in Southwestern France. In 2000, he moved to Paris to work in the kitchen of L'Arpège, a famous restaurant run by chef Alain Passard. He also improved his skills with other top chefs like Jacques and Laurent Pourcel.
Opening His Own Restaurants
In 2005, Cyril Lignac opened his very own fancy restaurant in Paris called Le Quinzième. Later, in 2008, he took over a historic Parisian bistro named Le Chardenoux. He even opened another bistro, Aux Prés, in a different part of Paris in 2011.
That same year, Cyril Lignac started a new project. He teamed up with Benoît Couvrand to open La Pâtisserie Cyril Lignac, a pastry shop in Paris. They opened a second pastry shop in 2013.
Michelin Star Award
Cyril Lignac received his first Michelin Guide star on February 27, 2012. This special award was for his gourmet restaurant Le Quinzième. A Michelin star is a very high honor for a restaurant, showing it has excellent food.

Helping the Community
In 2008, Cyril Lignac was chosen to support a program called Un fruit pour la récré. This program, supported by the French Ministry of Agriculture, gives free fruits to children in schools.
Awards and Honors
On May 11, 2009, Cyril Lignac received the title of Chevalier of the Order of Agricultural Merit. This is an honor given by the French government for services to agriculture.
In 2012, besides getting his first Michelin star for Le Quinzième, he was also named "Chef of the Year" by GQ Magazine.
