Círcol Catòlic de Badalona is a basketball club from Badalona, Spain. It is also known as Círculo Católico de Badalona in Spanish. The club has a long history in Spanish basketball.
Club History
The Círcol Catòlic de Badalona basketball club started in 1941. For many years, they played in Spain's lower basketball leagues. In 1958, they moved up to the Second Division.
The team played in the Second Division for ten seasons. In 1970, they went back down to the Third Division. But they worked hard and quickly moved up again. By 1972, they earned a spot in the top league, which was then called the Liga Nacional.
Círcol Catòlic stayed in the top league until 1986. The league changed its name to Liga ACB in 1983. The club usually played in Badalona. However, from 1984 to 1989, they played in Santa Coloma de Gramenet. After 1986, they moved down to a lower division.
Today, Círcol Catòlic de Badalona still plays basketball. They compete in the regional leagues of Catalonia.
