Playing Career Highlights

Daiki Iwamasa was born in Suo-Oshima, Yamaguchi, Japan, on January 30, 1982. He started playing football in high school and college before becoming a professional player.

Time with Kashima Antlers

Iwamasa began his professional journey with Kashima Antlers in 2004. He quickly became a key player as a center-back. The club made history by winning the J1 League three times in a row from 2007 to 2009. This was a first for the J1 League!

Iwamasa was also recognized for his skills, being chosen for the J.League Best XI (a team of the best players) for three years in a row. During his time there, Kashima Antlers also won the Emperor's Cup twice (in 2007 and 2010) and the J.League Cup twice (in 2011 and 2012). He played for the club until the end of the 2013 season.

Playing in Thailand

In 2014, Iwamasa moved to Thailand to play for BEC Tero Sasana. He helped his new team win the 2014 Thai League Cup. He even scored a goal in the final match, which they won 2–0.

Return to Japan

After his time in Thailand, Iwamasa returned to Japan in 2015. He joined Fagiano Okayama, a team in the J2 League. In 2017, he moved to Tokyo United in a lower league. He retired from playing football at the end of the 2018 season.

International Football
