Daiki Wakamatsu (若松 大樹, Wakamatsu Daiki, born August 2, 1976) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender.

Daiki Wakamatsu's Football Journey

Daiki Wakamatsu was born in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on August 2, 1976. He started his football career after finishing high school.

Early Career and First Clubs

In 1995, Daiki joined a team called Cosmo Oil. This team was part of the Japan Football League (JFL). He quickly became an important player, often playing as a right-side defender. He played many games in his first season. However, the Cosmo Oil team stopped playing at the end of 1996.

In 1997, Daiki moved to another JFL team, Montedio Yamagata. He continued to be a regular player there for two seasons.

Moving to Top Leagues

In 1998, Daiki got a chance to play for a bigger team, Shimizu S-Pulse. This team was in the J1 League, which is Japan's top football league. He joined them on a temporary loan. However, he did not get to play in any matches for Shimizu S-Pulse.

In 1999, Daiki joined Oita Trinita. This team had just moved up to the J2 League, which is the second-highest league in Japan. He played regularly for Oita Trinita. In 2002, his team won the J2 League championship. This meant they were promoted to the J1 League for the 2003 season.

Later Career and Retirement

Even though Oita Trinita moved to J1, Daiki's chances to play became fewer in 2003. In 2004, he moved to another J2 League team, Omiya Ardija. He played many matches for Omiya Ardija that year. At the end of the 2004 season, Daiki Wakamatsu decided to retire from professional football.
