Damageplan was a heavy metal band from Dallas, Texas. The band formed in 2003. It was started by two brothers, Dimebag Darrell Abbott and Vinnie Paul Abbott. They had previously played together in the famous band Pantera. Damageplan only released one album during their time together. The band stopped playing in 2004 after a very sad event. Their guitarist, Dimebag Darrell, passed away unexpectedly.

Forming the Band

After their previous band, Pantera, stopped playing, brothers Dimebag Darrell (guitarist) and Vinnie Paul (drummer) wanted to keep making music. They decided to start a new project. They invited Bob Zilla to play bass guitar. Pat Lachman joined as the singer. Together, they formed Damageplan in 2003.

Music Style and Album

Damageplan played a style of music called heavy metal. Their sound also included groove metal and hard rock. They released their only album, New Found Power, in 2004. This album showed off their powerful and energetic music. Fans enjoyed their unique sound.

The End of Damageplan

The band's journey was very short. In December 2004, a tragic event happened. During a concert, Dimebag Darrell Abbott sadly passed away. This was a huge loss for the band and their fans. Because of this, Damageplan decided to stop playing music together.

After Damageplan

After Damageplan ended, the remaining members continued their musical careers. Vinnie Paul and Bob Zilla later joined a new band called Hellyeah. They continued to make heavy metal music. Pat Lachman also continued to work on music projects.
