A Look at Dameron's History
Dameron got its start a long time ago, in the late 1800s. In 1880, a post office was opened there. Back then, post offices were super important because they were the main way people sent and received letters and packages. They were often a central spot for a community. The Dameron post office stayed open for almost 30 years, closing in 1909. The community itself was named after an early postmaster, which is a person who was in charge of the post office. He gave the place his own last name!
