Daniel Caplen (born March 27, 1992) is a talented British R&B singer, songwriter, and musician. He is also known by his stage name, D/C. Daniel grew up in London, England, and is signed with Atlantic Records UK.
In 2019, Daniel Caplen won a special award called the Ivor Novello Award. He received it for "PRS for Music Most Performed Work" for the song "These Days". This popular song was performed by Rudimental, Jess Glynne, Macklemore, and Daniel Caplen himself.

Daniel Caplen's Early Life
Daniel Caplen was born in London. His mother is from Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and his father is English. He went to school at St Edmund's School Canterbury.
When he was a teenager, Daniel started playing the piano and the cello. Later, he became interested in making and remixing music. For a short time, he lived in Portland, Oregon, in the United States. This experience helped him find his unique style as an artist.
Daniel Caplen's Music Journey
In 2014, D/C released his very first collection of songs, called an EP, named Epiphany. He released it himself, and it caught the eye of Atlantic Records. They were so impressed that they signed him to their label in 2015.
His first song with Atlantic Records was "Longing for You," released in February 2016. This song was part of his first EP with the label, called Badman, which came out later in 2016.
Daniel Caplen has also performed as a supporting act for other popular artists. He toured with the UK electronic duo Honne in 2015. He also supported Anne-Marie on her UK tour in early 2016. In 2016, he performed at The Great Escape festival in Brighton, United Kingdom.
A big moment in his career came in 2018. Daniel Caplen achieved his first number-one song in the UK with "These Days". He worked on this hit song with Rudimental, Jess Glynne, and Macklemore.
