Starting as Manitoba and Becoming Caribou
Dan Snaith first made music using the name Manitoba. But in 2004, he had to change his name to Caribou because of a legal issue. All his older albums were then re-released under the new Caribou name.
Performing Live
When Dan Snaith performs as Caribou, he plays with a live band. The band has toured all over the world since the early 2000s. They have played at many famous music festivals, like Coachella and Glastonbury. In 2012, Caribou even opened for the famous band Radiohead on their tour. About Dan's Life
Dan Snaith is not just a musician; he is also very smart! In 2005, he earned a special degree called a PhD in mathematics from a university in London. He studied something called "Overconvergent Siegel Modular Symbols." He joked that his math work was "original, but I would still call it trivial." His father, Victor Snaith, and his sister, Nina Snaith, are also mathematicians.
