Dana Goldberg (Hebrew: דנה גולדברג; born March 1, 1979) is a talented Israeli artist. She is known for her work as a filmmaker, poet, and writer for plays.

About Dana Goldberg
Her Early Life and Creative Journey
Dana Goldberg was born in Herzliya, Israel. Her dad was a pilot, and her mom worked at a bank. When she was a kid, Dana loved to explore many creative things. She studied photography, music, art, and writing.
After finishing high school, she went to art schools like HaMidrasha – Faculty of the Arts and Beit Berl College. Around this time, she also started writing poetry. Her poems were published in different literary magazines. These included HaMe'orer, Iton 77, Helicon, and Shebo. She also helped edit an online poetry magazine called Anonymous Fish?. Her first book of poems, Orange Coral, came out in 2011.
Becoming a Filmmaker
Dana Goldberg began making short films in 2003. A short film is a movie that is not very long. One of her films, Alligator (made in 2009), won an award. She received the Emerging Director award at the International Women's Film Festival In Rehovot. This award is for new directors who show great promise.
In 2005, she was invited to a special program. It was for young talents at the famous Berlin Film Festival. This was a big step in her film career.
Her Films and Awards
In 2012, Dana Goldberg released her first full-length movie, called Alice. This type of movie is called a feature film. The story was about a woman who worked at night in a special school. She spent her days sleeping.
Alice won three awards at the Jerusalem Film Festival. It also got a special mention at the Rehovot International Women's Film Festival. In 2014, Alice was chosen to open the Berlin Israel Film Festival.
Later, in 2018, she directed and wrote the film Death of a Poetess. She worked on this movie with Efrat Mishori. In 2023, her film Debbie Was Here won an award. It received the Artistic Achievement award at the Haifa International Film Festival.
Dana Goldberg is also working on a new film called The Left Heart. In 2024, she won a grant for this film. This means she got money to help make the movie.
Helping Other Women in Film
In 2016, Dana Goldberg and Efrat Mishori started an organization. It's called Kinoclan. This group helps create and share films and writings. They especially focus on stories about women. They want to make sure these stories are told from women's points of view.
Dana's Other Creative Works
Besides films and poetry, Dana Goldberg also writes plays. A play is a story written to be performed on a stage. One of her plays is called Esti of the Pines. It was performed at the Theatronetto festival in 2014.
