The Danbury Mad Hatters was a professional ice hockey team. They played in Danbury, Connecticut, at the Danbury Ice Arena. This arena could hold 3,050 fans. The Mad Hatters were part of the Eastern Professional Hockey League.

The team's name, Mad Hatters, came from Danbury's old nickname, "Hat City." Danbury was once a major center for making hats. At one point, it produced about 25% of all hats made in America! The word "mad" was added to make the team's name different from local high school teams. It also referred to the saying "mad as a hatter."

Col. Tim Kolpien owned the team. On June 10, 2008, the team announced their coach. It was Dave MacIsaac, a former player for the Danbury Trashers.
