Dancing Sushi is a fun animated TV show from America. It aired on Nicktoons Network. This show is a spin-off, which means it's like a sister show, to another cartoon called Kappa Mikey.
About the Show
This show is all about four lively sushi characters! You might have seen three of them in short clips during Kappa Mikey. In Dancing Sushi, they get their own names and unique personalities. A new girl sushi character joins the group too.
These sushi friends are always happy, curious, and full of energy. They go on little adventures, have lots of fun, and try their best to avoid being eaten! And, as the name suggests, they love to dance. The show doesn't have any talking, so you can just enjoy the music and the characters' actions.
It seems like Dancing Sushi takes place in the same world as Kappa Mikey. However, none of the main characters from Kappa Mikey appear in this show. Instead, the sushi characters live in a busy café, similar to a restaurant seen in an episode of Kappa Mikey.
Meet the Characters
- Salmon - This sushi character is made of salmon. Salmon is the leader of the group and sometimes likes to cause a little bit of playful trouble.
- Larry - Larry is a shrimp sushi wrapped in seaweed and rice. He is the most excited and energetic of the group, though he can be a bit silly sometimes. He's named after the company's boss, Larry Schwarz!
- Roro - Roro is made of fish eggs wrapped in seaweed. Roro is the smallest and youngest-acting of the group. They are easily influenced by others.
- Meep - Meep is a piece of fish with rice. She is the only girl in the group. Meep is a confident and smart character who knows how to handle situations.
- Sushi Chef - This tall, somewhat scary sushi chef is always trying to catch the sushi characters to prepare them for orders. But no matter how hard he tries, he always fails!
How the Show Was Made
Dancing Sushi was created between October 2007 and December 2007. The idea was to give fans of Kappa Mikey more of the same fun characters and world. It also helped keep the animators busy between big projects.
Since the show has no talking, many different people helped make the sounds for the characters. This included the show's music composer, John Angier, some of the animators, and even the director, John Holt, himself!
