Dani Levy was born in Basel, Switzerland, in 1957. He grew up in a Jewish family. In the 1980s, he moved to Berlin, Germany, to pursue his career in film.
His Work as a Director
Dani Levy has directed many films. Some of his early works include RobbyKallePaul and I Was on Mars. In 1995, his film Stille Nacht received an Honourable Mention at the 46th Berlin International Film Festival. This was a special award at a major film event.
In 2004, he directed Alles auf Zucker!. This film is a comedy about a Jewish man who has lost touch with his religious roots. He has to reconnect with his more traditional brother. The movie explores family relationships and cultural differences in a funny way.
In 2007, Levy directed Mein Führer – Die wirklich wahrste Wahrheit über Adolf Hitler. This comedy-drama tells the story of a Jewish actor hired to help Adolf Hitler with his speeches during the end of World War II. The film starred German comedian Helge Schneider. It was shown at the 29th Moscow International Film Festival.
Dani Levy is also one of the people who started X Filme Creative Pool. This is a well-known German film production company.
