Danielle 'Dani' Rowe (born Danielle King on November 21, 1990) is a British former professional cyclist. She competed in both road cycling and track cycling. Dani stopped racing bikes in December 2018.
She won a gold medal at the London Olympics in 2012 in the team pursuit event. Dani also won three world titles in the women's team pursuit. These wins were in 2011, 2012, and 2013. She often raced with famous teammates like Laura Trott and Joanna Rowsell.

Olympic Gold and World Records
In February 2012, Dani won the team pursuit at the Track Cycling World Cup in London. This was part of her training for the Olympics. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, Dani Rowe, Laura Trott, and Joanna Rowsell won a gold medal. They competed in the team pursuit event. The team also set a new world record time of 3 minutes and 14.051 seconds.
Overcoming Challenges
In November 2014, Dani had a serious accident while training. She hit a pothole near Merthyr Tydfil. She broke her rib cage and had a collapsed lung. Dani spent 10 days in the hospital recovering from her injuries.
Awards and Recognition
Dani Rowe was given the title of Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2013. This award was for her great contributions to cycling.
She also received the Freedom of the Borough of Eastleigh in 2013. A special cycle route in Hamble is named after her.
Professional Teams
In September 2016, Dani joined the professional cycling team Cylance Pro Cycling for the 2017 season. After one year, in October 2017, she announced she would join WaowDeals Pro Cycling for 2018.
Dani Rowe's Personal Life
Dani went to school at Hamble Community Sports College. She then attended Barton Peveril Sixth Form College. Her father, Trevor King, was a biathlete who competed in two Winter Olympics. Dani also has a younger sister.
She started as a competitive swimmer and triathlete. In 2005, British Cycling tested her skills at her school. She was then chosen to join the Talent Team. This team helps young cyclists develop their skills. Later that year, she joined i-Team.cc cycling club. She trained and raced regularly at The Mountbatten Centre Velodrome in Portsmouth.
In 2009, Dani got glandular fever while training to become an elite cyclist. This made her worry her career might be over. However, she recovered and was chosen to compete at the world championship level in late 2011. After setting a world record with her team, she was chosen for Team GB.
Dani Rowe is married to another cyclist, Matthew Rowe. They got married on September 30, 2017, at Llandaff Cathedral. Their wedding reception was held in a country house in Chepstow. The couple lives in Cardiff, Wales. In 2020, Dani and Matthew welcomed their son.
