Daniel Jacobus Rossouw (born 5 June 1978) is a former professional rugby union player from South Africa. He was known for playing as a forward, either as a lock or a flanker, or even as a number eight.

Rossouw played for the Bulls in the Super Rugby competition. He started his professional career in 1999 with the Blue Bulls in the Currie Cup. In 2001, he made his first appearance in the Super 12 (now Super Rugby) for the Bulls.

Danie Rossouw's Rugby Career

Playing for South Africa (Springboks)

Danie Rossouw first played for the Springboks in 2003. His first international game was against Uruguay at the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Australia. He even scored a try in that match!

He played in most of the games during that World Cup. The Springboks made it to the quarterfinals, where they were eventually knocked out by the All Blacks.

Winning the 2007 Rugby World Cup

Rossouw played a very important role in the Springboks' victory at the 2007 Rugby World Cup. He was chosen as the first-choice Number 8 for the team.

During the tournament, he scored a try in the semifinal match against Argentina. Even after getting a neck injury in a game against Tonga, he recovered quickly. He then helped the Springboks win the final, making a key tackle on Mark Cueto that saved a try.

Danie Rossouw's Many Trophies

Danie Rossouw is one of the most successful rugby players in the world. He has won many major titles throughout his career.

He won the Currie Cup three times with the Blue Bulls. With the Bulls, he won the Super Rugby title three times. He also won the Rugby World Cup and the Tri-Nations with the South Africa national team.

Later in his career, he played for teams in Japan and France. With Suntory Sungoliath in Japan, he won the Japan Top League twice. He also won the All Japan Championship once.

When he moved to Toulon in France, he continued his winning streak. He won the Heineken Cup European Champions twice and the Top 14 French League title once.
