Daniel Conn's Rugby League Journey
Daniel Conn started playing rugby league as a junior for the Wellington Cowboys and St Johns Dubbo teams. He worked hard to become a professional player.
Starting His Professional Career
In 2005, Daniel made his first big step into professional rugby league. He played his very first top-level game for the Canterbury Bulldogs. This exciting debut happened in round 11 of the 2005 NRL season against the Melbourne Storm.
Playing for Top Clubs
In 2007, Daniel joined a new team, the Gold Coast Titans. He was one of the first players to be part of their team when the club started. Later, in 2010, the Sydney Roosters signed Daniel. He played an important role for the Roosters, even reaching the 2010 NRL Grand Final. However, his team lost that big game to St. George Illawarra.
Why Daniel Conn Retired from Rugby
In 2011, Daniel Conn had to make a very tough decision. During a game in round 12 of the 2011 NRL season, he got a serious neck injury. This injury needed major surgery to help his spine.
A week after his surgery, doctors told Daniel that if he kept playing rugby, there was a high chance he could face serious health problems in the future. Even though he was only 25 years old, Daniel decided it was best for his health to stop playing professional rugby league. He believed it was the right choice for his future well-being.
