Daniel Rasilla Colaso (born April 28, 1980) is a professional boxer from Spain. He is known by his nickname "Cobra." Daniel competed in several weight classes, including lightweight, light-welterweight, and welterweight. He became a champion in Spain, holding the Spanish lightweight and light-welterweight titles between 2007 and 2013. He also had a big chance to win the European light-welterweight title in 2009.
Daniel's Boxing Journey
Daniel Rasilla started his professional boxing career on February 4, 2006. In his very first fight, he won against Marques Gil. The judges all agreed he was the winner, which is called a unanimous decision (UD).
On December 15, 2007, Daniel won his first major title. He defeated Hoang Sang Nguyen to become the Spanish lightweight champion. He successfully defended this title once against Karim El Ouazghari in April 2008. However, in a rematch with Hoang Sang Nguyen in November 2008, Daniel lost his title. He was stopped in the second round, which is known as a technical knockout (TKO).
In March 2009, Daniel traveled outside Spain for a fight for the first time. He went to Ireland to compete for the vacant European Union lightweight title. He fought Andrew Murray but lost the fight by unanimous decision.
Later that year, on November 6, 2009, Daniel had another important fight away from home. This time, he went to Northern Ireland to challenge for the vacant European light-welterweight title. He faced Paul McCloskey but was stopped in the ninth round.
Daniel didn't give up! On May 15, 2010, he won another Spanish title. He knocked out Juan Zapata in the fifth round to become the Spanish light-welterweight champion. He then tried again to win a European Union title. In November 2010, he fought Ville Piispanen for the European Union light-welterweight title. The fight ended in a split draw, meaning the judges couldn't agree on a clear winner.
