Daniel Vaughan (born July 27, 1897 – died September 23, 1975) was an Irish politician and farmer. He was a member of Dáil Éireann, which is like Ireland's main parliament or law-making body. He was known as a Teachta Dála (TD), which means a representative in the Dáil.
Daniel Vaughan: An Irish Politician
Starting in the Dáil
Daniel Vaughan first became a TD in 1922. This was during the 1922 Irish general election. He represented a large area called Cork Mid, North, South, South East and West. He was part of a group called the Farmers' Party. This party focused on helping farmers and rural communities.
He was re-elected in 1923 for the Cork North area. He continued to be re-elected in several more elections. These included the elections in June 1927, September 1927, and 1932.
Changing Political Parties
After the 1932 general election, something new happened. Daniel Vaughan and other TDs from the Farmers' Party joined a new group. This new group was called the National Centre Party.
They ran in the 1933 general election under this new party name. However, Daniel Vaughan was not re-elected in that election. He had served as a TD for many years, representing the people of County Cork.
