Dann Hume (born Daniel Benjamin Cobbe, 1 September 1987) is a talented musician, music producer, and songwriter from New Zealand. He started his music journey with his two brothers, Jon Hume and Peter Hume, forming the alternative rock band, Evermore in 1999. Dann helped write some of Evermore's popular songs like "Running", "Light Surrounding You" and "It's Too Late".

Life and Music Journey

Dann Hume, whose full name is Daniel Benjamin Cobbe, was born in 1987. He is the youngest of the Hume brothers. In 1999, when he was just 12 years old, he formed the band Evermore with his older brothers, Jon and Peter, in their hometown of Feilding, New Zealand.

Dann played a big part in writing many of Evermore's songs. He co-wrote well-known songs such as "Running", "Light Surrounding You", and "It's Too Late" from their album Dreams.

After Evermore released their fourth album, Follow the Sun, in late 2012, Dann decided to stop touring with the band. He wanted to focus more on being a music producer. A music producer helps artists create their songs, guiding them through the recording process and making sure the music sounds great. He also works as a mix engineer, which means he balances all the different sounds in a song to make them blend perfectly.

Working with Other Artists

Dann has worked with many famous Australian artists as a producer. Some of these include Lisa Mitchell, Matt Corby, Amy Shark, Alpine, Troye Sivan, Client Liaison, and Sticky Fingers.

He helped Lisa Mitchell's song 'Wonder' become a big hit, reaching ARIA Platinum status. He also produced albums that reached ARIA Gold status, like Matt Corby's first album Telluric and Sticky Fingers' Caress Your Soul. Kita Alexander's song "Hotel" and Amy Shark's 'Weekends' also achieved ARIA Platinum and Gold status, respectively.

In 2019, Dann Hume won a special award. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2019, he was named Producer of the Year. This award was for his amazing work on Matt Corby's album, Rainbow Valley. This shows how much his talent and hard work are recognized in the music industry.
