Dante Campbell is a Canadian professional soccer player. He was born on May 22, 1999. Dante plays as a midfielder for Valour FC. This team is part of the Canadian Premier League.
Early Life
Dante started playing soccer when he was seven years old. He played for a team called Brampton East SC. When he turned 13, he joined the Toronto FC Academy. This is a special training program for young soccer players.
Club Career
In 2016, Dante began playing at a higher level. He played for Toronto FC III in two leagues. These were the Premier Development League and League1 Ontario.
On July 31, 2016, Dante made his first professional appearance. He played for Toronto FC II in the USL Championship. He came into the game as a substitute. In July 2017, he signed a full professional contract with Toronto FC II. This meant he was officially a professional player.
In April 2019, Dante extended his contract for two more years. In August 2020, Toronto FC II could not play their season. This was because of travel rules during the COVID-19 pandemic. So, Dante was loaned to Valour FC. Valour FC is in the Canadian Premier League. He played five games for Valour in that short season. After that, he went back to Toronto FC II. In April 2021, he signed another contract extension.
In March 2022, Dante joined LA Galaxy II. This team plays in the USL Championship. He scored his first goal for them on April 23, 2022. The goal was against the Las Vegas Lights.
In February 2023, Dante returned to Valour FC. This time, he signed a permanent contract with them. On September 8, 2023, he scored his first goal for Valour FC. His team won 3-1 against York United FC. After that game, he was named the CPL Player of the Week. In December 2023, he extended his contract with Valour FC through the 2024 season. After the 2024 season, the club decided to keep him for the 2025 season too.
International Career
Dante first joined the Canadian national soccer program in November 2013. He attended a training camp for the Canada U15 youth team. He was chosen for the Canadian U17 team. They played in the 2015 CONCACAF U-17 Championship. Dante was also part of the Canadian Under-20 squad. He played in the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship and the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.
