Danusia May Francis-Reid (born May 13, 1994) is a retired gymnast. She competed for both Great Britain and Jamaica. Danusia was a backup athlete for Great Britain's team at the 2012 Olympics. She also went to the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). There, she competed for the UCLA Bruins gymnastics team. Danusia represented Jamaica at the 2020 Olympic Games.

Danusia Francis's Gymnastics Journey

Danusia Francis had an exciting gymnastics career. She competed in many important events. These included national championships and international competitions.

Early Competitions: 2009-2011

Danusia started strong in 2009. She competed at the British Championships. She finished second overall. She also won first place on uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise.

In 2010, she again competed at the British Championships. She earned third place overall. Danusia was happy, especially after dealing with some injuries. She said it was great to compete and show what she could do.

In 2011, Danusia competed at the English Championships. She placed third in the all-around. Later that year, she went to the European Championships in Berlin, Germany. She made it to the all-around final. Danusia finished sixteenth there. She learned a lot from this big event.

She also competed at the British Teams competition. Her club, Heathrow, finished third. Danusia placed third in the all-around. At the British Championships in Liverpool, she came in second overall. She was pleased with her new floor routine.

In October 2011, Danusia competed at the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. She helped the British team finish in fifth place.

At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo (held in 2021), Danusia faced a challenge. Just two days before competing, she tore a ligament in her knee. She decided not to compete on balance beam, vault, and floor exercise. However, she bravely competed on the uneven bars with her knee bandaged. Even with deductions, her execution score was very high.
