Darren Charles Barnet (born April 27, 1991) is an American actor. He is famous for his role as Paxton Hall-Yoshida in the Netflix TV show Never Have I Ever.

About Darren Barnet's Early Life
Darren Charles Barnet was born in Los Angeles on April 27, 1991. His mother has Swedish and Japanese family roots. His father is American with German and Cherokee heritage. Darren's grandfather was Charlie Barnet, a well-known swing musician. Darren has both an older and a younger sister.
When Darren was 12, he and his mother moved to the suburbs of Orlando, Florida. He finished high school at Dr. Phillips High School in 2009. There, he was the lacrosse team captain.
Darren's College Years and Languages
Darren went to Berry College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2013. During college, he acted in plays and short films. He had wanted to be an actor since he was five years old. However, he only started seriously pursuing acting in college. Besides English, Darren also speaks Japanese and can have conversations in Spanish. He has also studied French.
Darren Barnet's Acting Career
After graduating from college in 2013, Darren Barnet moved back to Los Angeles. He wanted to become an actor. He worked at a place called SoulCycle on Sunset Boulevard. He was a bike attendant and helped at the front desk.
First Roles in TV and Film
Darren started his acting career in 2017. That year, he had small roles in popular TV shows. These included This Is Us, S.W.A.T., and Criminal Minds.
In 2018, he played Hot Seth in the web series Turnt. This show was on Facebook Watch. The same year, he appeared in his first movie, Instakiller. This was a TV movie for the Lifetime channel. In 2019, Darren also had a guest role in the Netflix sitcom Family Reunion.
Becoming Famous with Never Have I Ever
In April 2020, Darren Barnet began starring in the Netflix show Never Have I Ever. This show is a comedy-drama for teens. He plays Paxton Hall-Yoshida, who is the crush of the main character, Devi Vishwakumar. Devi is played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan.
Both the show Never Have I Ever and Darren's acting received great reviews. Netflix reported that 40 million homes around the world watched the series. Later in 2020, he had a brief role in the TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. He also starred in the movie American Pie Presents: Girls' Rules.
Recent Projects and Voice Acting
In 2021, Darren was part of the cast in the horror comedy movie Untitled Horror Movie. This film was available on Prime Video, iTunes, and Vudu. Critics and viewers liked the movie, especially the actors' performances. In July 2021, he returned as Paxton Hall-Yoshida for the second season of Never Have I Ever. In November 2021, Darren also starred in the Netflix Christmas romantic comedy movie Love Hard.
In April 2022, Darren Barnet became the first male brand ambassador for Victoria's Secret PINK. He helped launch their "Gender Free" collection. Later that month, he voiced the main character, Yuichi Usagi, in the Netflix animated series Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles.
Darren continued his role in the third and fourth seasons of Never Have I Ever. He also worked as a producer and actor in the movie Apophenia.
In 2023, Darren voiced Taigen in the Netflix anime series Blue Eye Samurai. He also voiced the main character, Jak, in the video game Immortals of Aveum. Darren played Matty Davis in the sports movie Gran Turismo, which is based on a true story. His recent movie was the 2023 romantic comedy Anyone But You.
In 2024, he appeared in the action film Road House. He is currently voicing Kenji Kon in the Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous sequel series, Jurassic World: Chaos Theory.
