Darrian Robinson, born in 1994, is an American chess player. She is a very talented player. In 2014, she was the highest-rated African American female player in the United States Chess Federation. She has earned the title of Candidate Master from the USCF.

Darrian Robinson's Chess Journey

Darrian's chess career became well-known in 2006. She ranked 6th among girls under 13 in the USCF system. That same year, she represented the United States in a big competition. This was the World Youth Chess Championship held in Batumi, Georgia.

A New York Times article shared something special about this 2006 championship. It was the first time that two African-American players represented the United States in this important tournament.

Life Beyond the Chessboard

Darrian Robinson also has an impressive academic background. She graduated from the University of Chicago in 2016. While she was studying there, she had some amazing experiences.

She completed a White House Internship. This means she worked for a short time at the White House, helping with important government tasks. She also studied abroad at the London School of Economics in England. Later, she worked at Hillary Clinton’s campaign office in Des Moines, Iowa. This involved helping with a political campaign.
