Darryl Damone Johnson (born October 26, 1965) is an American former professional basketball player. He was born in Flint, Michigan. Darryl played college basketball at Michigan State University.

After college, he was chosen in the 1987 NBA draft by the Golden State Warriors. However, he did not play for them. Instead, he spent most of his career playing in other professional leagues. He played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and the World Basketball League (WBL). Later in his career, he played in South America.

Early Life and College Basketball

Darryl Johnson grew up playing basketball in Jackson Park in Flint, Michigan. He was a talented player from a young age.

He then played four successful years of college basketball. From 1983 to 1987, he was a key player for Michigan State University. His time there helped him prepare for a professional career.

Professional Basketball Career

After college, Darryl Johnson began his professional journey. He played in several different leagues.

Playing in the CBA

The Continental Basketball Association (CBA) was a major league for players hoping to reach the NBA. Darryl played for several CBA teams. These included the Cedar Rapids Silver Bullets, Rockford Lightning, Omaha Racers, Idaho Stampede, and Flint Fuze. In 1996, he was recognized as one of the best players in the league. He was named to the All-CBA Second Team.

NBA Experience

Darryl Johnson also had a brief time in the NBA. He played 11 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 1995–96 NBA season. He also attended training camp with the Indiana Pacers in 1990.

International Play and Other Leagues

Besides the CBA and NBA, Darryl played in other leagues. He was a champion in the World Basketball League (WBL) in 1991. He also played in the Canadian NBL in 1993, where he was named to the All-League Team. Towards the end of his career, he played basketball in other countries, including South America.
