Daryle Bruce Singletary (born March 10, 1971 – died February 12, 2018) was an American country music singer. He was known for his traditional country sound. Between 1995 and 1998, he released three albums with Giant Records.

During this time, Singletary had five songs reach the Top 40 on the country music charts. His most famous songs, "I Let Her Lie" and "Amen Kind of Love", both reached No. 2. Another hit, "Too Much Fun", made it to No. 4.

Early Life and Start in Music

Daryle Singletary was born on March 10, 1971, in Cairo, Georgia. His dad, Roger, worked for the postal service, and his mom, Anita, was a hair stylist. From a young age, Daryle loved to sing gospel music with his family.

In high school, he took singing lessons to improve his voice. In 1990, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, hoping to become a professional singer. In Nashville, Daryle sang at open-mic nights. He also worked as a demo singer, recording songs for other artists to hear.

One of the songs Daryle sang as a demo was "An Old Pair of Shoes." Famous country singer Randy Travis later recorded this song. Travis was so impressed with Daryle's voice that he suggested Daryle to his own management team. This helped Daryle sign a record deal with Giant Records.

Later, Daryle signed with Shanachie Records. In 2007, he released another album of cover songs called Straight from the Heart. In 2009, he returned to Koch (now called E1 Music) and released his album Rockin' in the Country.
