Daryush Shokof (born June 25, 1954) is an Iranian writer, film director, artist, and film producer. He lives and works in Germany. His first major film was Seven Servants. This movie featured Anthony Quinn in one of his last acting roles.
About Daryush Shokof
Daryush Shokof was born as Ali Reza Shokoufandeh on June 25, 1954, in Tehran, which was then called the Imperial State of Iran. He went to Eastern New Mexico University and studied Physics and Mathematics. Later, he earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Dallas in Texas. An MBA is a special degree that teaches people about managing businesses.
In 1985, Daryush Shokof moved to Germany. There, he became known for sharing his opinions about the government in Iran.
A Reported Incident
In May 2010, around the time his film Iran Zendan was released, Shokof reported an unusual event. He said that he was held by four men in the city of Cologne, Germany, for over twelve days. German police looked into his report.
