Dathina (Arabic: دثينة Dathīnah), also known as the Dathina Sheikhdom (Arabic: مشيخة دثينة Mashyakhat Dathīnah), was a small state in the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula. It was once part of the British Aden Protectorate, which was a group of states under British protection. Later, Dathina joined the Federation of Arab Emirates of the South and then the Federation of South Arabia. Its main town, or capital, was Mudiyah.

History of Dathina
Dathina existed as a state for many years. It was part of a larger group of states. These states were under the protection of the British Empire. This meant Britain helped protect them.
Joining Federations
Dathina first joined the Federation of Arab Emirates of the South. This was a group of states working together. Later, it became part of the Federation of South Arabia. This federation was a step towards forming a new country.
End of the Sheikhdom
The Dathina Sheikhdom ended on August 14, 1967. This happened when the People's Republic of Yemen was created. In 1990, this area became part of the larger Republic of Yemen.
Leaders of Dathina
Dathina was led by a special group of people. They were called the Council of State. The person in charge was known as the Na'ib, Ra'is Majlis al-Dawla. This title means "Chairman of the Council of State."
