David Cervinski (born November 8, 1970 – died May 16, 2019) was a talented Australian soccer player. He was born in Geelong, Victoria.
David played for several important clubs in Australia's top soccer league, the National Soccer League (NSL). These clubs included the Melbourne Knights, Carlton, and Wollongong Wolves. He also played for Gombak United in Singapore.
One of David's biggest achievements was winning four NSL titles. He also helped his team win the 2000 NSL Grand Final, which is a very big championship game. David's brother, Adrian Cervinski, was also a soccer player.
David Cervinski passed away on May 16, 2019, at the age of 48.
David's Soccer Journey
David Cervinski started his soccer career playing for the North Geelong Warriors as a young player. He then moved on to play for professional teams.
Playing for Top Clubs
David played for the Melbourne Knights in two different periods, from 1993 to 1995 and again from 1995 to 1997. He played 23 games in his first period and 49 games in his second period, scoring goals for his team.
After his time with the Knights, David joined Carlton from 1997 to 1999, where he played 47 games. In 1999, he had a short time playing overseas for Gombak United in Singapore.
Success with Wollongong Wolves
David then returned to Australia and joined the Wollongong Wolves. This was a very successful time for him. He played 100 games for the Wolves between 1999 and 2003, helping them win important titles.
After his professional career, David continued to play soccer for other clubs like Cringila and Canterbury-Marrickville. He also returned to his first club, North Geelong Warriors, from 2004 to 2007.
