About David Elliott's Books

David Elliott grew up in Ohio. He wrote his very first story when he was 16 years old. He even sent it to a famous magazine called The New Yorker. He remembers that they sent it back to him torn in half!

Many of his books for kids are funny. They are often written as poems or short stories. His "On the Farm" series has short, clever poems about nature. Bull is a novel written in verse for older kids. It retells the old myth of the Minotaur. Voices is another verse novel. It tells the story of Joan of Arc from different points of view.
