David Frederick Hepburn, born on August 5, 1958, is a Canadian author and a doctor who is now retired. He served as a naval surgeon for Canada during the Persian Gulf War in 1991. Dr. Hepburn is known for his book, The Doctor Is In(sane). He also writes newspaper columns that are published in both Canada and the United States. He even had a radio show called "WiseQuack." His writing has earned him the "Columnist of the Year" award from both the Arizona Newspaper Association and the Canadian Community Newspaper Association.
Early Life and Education
Dr. Hepburn was born in Canada. He studied hard and earned his degree in medicine from the University of Ottawa in 1986. After that, he completed his medical training at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, British Columbia, in 1987. He then began working as a private doctor.
Medical Career and Achievements
Dr. Hepburn had an interesting career in medicine. He was a Canadian naval surgeon during the Persian Gulf War in 1991. He also played a big role in sports medicine. He was the medical director for gymnastics at the 1994 Commonwealth Games. He also worked as a team doctor for national rugby teams and for both junior and professional hockey teams.
From 1995 to 1999, he worked in the General Practice department at the Esquimalt Medical Treatment Center. In 1999, he started working at Yates & Quadra Medical. Later, in 2005, he became a Clinical Instructor for Nurse Practitioners in British Columbia. Two years after that, he joined the UBC School of Medicine as Clinical Faculty.
