David Edward Walker is a well-known American television news anchor who is now retired. For almost 30 years, he and his wife, Lois Hart, worked together as a famous news anchoring team. They started their journey in 1980 as founding anchors for CNN and continued until 2008 at Sacramento, California station KCRA.

David Walker's Early Life and Education

David Walker was born in 1941. He grew up in Tampa, Florida. He finished high school at Henry B. Plant High School in 1960. Later, in 1964, he earned a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of South Florida. Sociology is the study of how people live together in groups and societies.

A Career in Television News

David Walker began his exciting career in journalism in the 1960s. Journalism is about gathering and presenting news and information to the public. He worked in Orlando, Florida, at TV stations like WFTV and WESH-TV.

Moving to Sacramento and National News

In the 1970s, David moved to Sacramento, California. There, he worked for local TV stations KOVR and KCRA. A big change happened in 1980. David Walker and his wife, Lois Hart, moved to Atlanta, Georgia. They became part of the original team of anchors for CNN.
