The story begins with a boy named David. He lives with his parents in a small cabin in a jungle. For his birthday, David gets a special gift: a puppy he names Pips. He also makes a new friend, a baby eagle he calls Sandy.

David, Pips, and Sandy soon discover a big problem. A greedy man, known as Mr. Stealmore, is after some very important pearls. These pearls were brought to Earth by friendly aliens. They are meant to protect the jungle.

Mr. Stealmore also has a helper, a woman named Fawn Doe. She used to capture animals for him. But David helps Fawn Doe see that protecting nature is important. She changes her ways and becomes a "Nature Woman." She then helps David and his friends.

Now, David, Pips, Sandy, and Fawn Doe must work together. Their mission is to save the jungle from Mr. Stealmore. He plans to destroy the jungle and build a city there. It's a race against time to protect the magic pearls and their home!
