Dawn Quigley facts for kids

Dawn Quigley's Education
Dawn Quigley studied at the University of Minnesota. There, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She also received a Master of Education degree and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Her studies also included special training for teaching Math and English Language Arts to middle school students.
She also attended Augsburg College. At Augsburg, she earned certificates for teaching elementary school (grades K–6) and for helping students with reading and writing (literacy) across all grades (K–12).
Teaching and Research
Dawn Quigley taught English Language Arts in schools from kindergarten all the way through high school for 18 years. She also helped lead a special program for Indian Education.
Today, she is a professor at St. Catherine University. She teaches in the Education Department, helping to train future teachers. Her work focuses on how teachers are trained, Native American books and stories, and special ways of doing research that respect Indigenous cultures. Her academic writings have been published in important journals like Social Identities and American Indian Quarterly.
