Music Journey
DeWayne Woods began his music career by working with famous gospel artist Donald Lawrence. He was part of the Tri-City Singers group.
In 2003, DeWayne released his first album. It was titled The Poets, The Psalms, and the Psalmists. He released this album himself.
His second album came out on July 25, 2006. It was called Introducing DeWayne Woods & When Singers Meet. This album was released with Verity Records. It quickly became popular. It reached number 5 on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. This means it was one of the top 5 gospel albums in the country. Music critics also liked it. AllMusic gave it a good review. Cross Rhythms rated it very highly. DeWayne also won an award for this album. He was named Male Vocalist of the Year at the Stellar Awards.
On June 22, 2010, DeWayne released his third album. It was named My Life's Lyric. This album was released by Verity and Jive Records. It also did very well on the charts. It reached number 3 on the Gospel Albums chart. AllMusic gave this album a positive review too.
His most recent album is Life Lessons. It was released on February 3, 2015. Soul Therapy Music Group released this album. Life Lessons was also very successful. It reached number 2 on the Gospel Albums chart. It also appeared on the Independent Albums chart at number 40. This shows how popular his music is.
