Deadly (Australian TV series) facts for kids
Deadly was a fun Australian cartoon show for kids. It first appeared on the Nine Network in 2006 and ran until 2010. A company called Yoram Gross Productions made the show. The Film Finance Corporation Australia helped pay for it.
The cartoon is based on the popular Deadly book series. These books were written by Morris Gleitzman and Paul Jennings. The show is all about the exciting adventures of two friends, Sprocket and Amy. They try to get away from and mess up the plans of a tricky group called the Brats.
What the Show is About
Imagine being 12 years old and having to look after your own mum – who is now a two-year-old! That's what happens in Deadly. It's a lot of work for Amy.
Sprocket is also on a tough journey. He's a runaway trying to find his family. All he has is an old, faded photo to guide him.
But the biggest problem is a super dangerous blue tea plant. Its seeds have washed into the river. Soon, these plants will grow. They can make people stay young forever, which sounds cool but causes big trouble!
Amy and Sprocket have to work together. They try their best to raise Toddler Mum. They also fight against Pooper Scooper and his mean family. Their main goal is to stop every single one of those strange tea plants. If they don't, the plants could change the whole world!

Main Heroes
- Sprocket - He is the main character of the show. Sprocket comes to town to find out who the woman in his old picture is. He has carried this photo since he was a baby.
- Amy - She is a girl who lives in the town. Amy's mother gets turned into a baby by the Turner Brats.
Amy's Mum
- Leslie/Toddler Mum - This is Amy's mother. She was turned into a baby. Even though she is now only two years old, she seems to remember some things from her adult life.
The Bad Guys
The Turner Brats are the main villains in the show. They are looking for the secret to grow the blue plant. This plant gives them eternal youth when they drink its tea.
- Pooper Scooper/Orson - He says he is the leader of the Turner Brats.
- Reptile/Hilda - She is the girl in the group of villains.
- Beanie/Barnabas - He is usually the most sensible and thoughtful one among the Brats.
