Dean Rock (born 26 February 1990) is a famous Irish Gaelic football player. He played for the Dublin county team from 2013 until his retirement in 2023.
Rock was known for being an amazing free-taker. A free-take is a chance to score a point without being tackled. He famously scored the winning point from a free in the 2017 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final. Many experts, like Colm O'Rourke, have called him one of the best free-takers ever to play at Croke Park.

Playing Career
Rock's journey to becoming a Dublin legend started when he was young. He played for his school and local club before joining the Dublin teams.
School and Club Football
Rock went to the Catholic University School. The school didn't have a Gaelic football team, so he played rugby union instead.

Rock played for Dublin at every level, from minor (under-18) to senior.
Early Years with Dublin
He first played for the Dublin minor team. Later, he joined the under-21 team and won an All-Ireland Championship in 2010. This was a sign of the great success that was to come.
Senior Team Success
Rock joined the Dublin senior team in 2012. He quickly became one of the team's most important players. He was a key part of Dublin's amazing run, winning eight All-Ireland Championships. This included six championships in a row from 2015 to 2020.
He also won ten Leinster Championships and five National League titles with Dublin. Because of his great skill, he was given three All-Star awards, which are given to the best players in the country.
Famous Moments
Rock was known for staying calm under pressure and scoring when it mattered most.
- 2017 All-Ireland Final: With the score tied against Mayo, Rock kicked a difficult free in the last minute to win the championship for Dublin.
- 2019 All-Ireland Final: During the final against Kerry, he became Dublin's second-highest scorer of all time.
- 2020 All-Ireland Final: Rock scored the fastest goal in the history of All-Ireland finals. He scored just 13 seconds after the game started.
