LaVena Lynn Johnson (born July 27, 1985 – died July 19, 2005) was a brave young woman who served in the United States Army. She held the rank of Private First Class (PFC). LaVena passed away while serving her country in Iraq, just before her 20th birthday.
About LaVena Johnson
LaVena Johnson grew up in Florissant, Missouri. Her father, John Johnson, was also a veteran who had served in the military. LaVena was a very bright student and earned good grades in school.
After finishing Hazelwood Central High School, LaVena decided to join the Army right away. She was sent to Balad, Iraq, to serve her country. She had been in Iraq for about eight weeks when she passed away on July 19, 2005. This was only eight days before she would have turned 20 years old.
