Deborah Ann "Debbi" Morgan is a talented American actress. She has appeared in many movies and TV shows. Debbi is probably best known for playing Angie Baxter–Hubbard on the TV show All My Children.
In 1989, Debbi Morgan made history. She was the first African American actress to win a Daytime Emmy Award for Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. This award was for her amazing performance as Angie. She also played the mysterious Seer in the TV series Charmed. In movies, her role as Mozelle Batiste-Delacroix in Eve's Bayou (1997) was highly praised. She even won an Independent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Female for it. More recently, she had a recurring role as Estelle Green in the crime drama Power and its spin-off Power Book II: Ghost. She also co-starred in the TV drama Our Kind of People.

Early Life
Debbi Morgan was born in Dunn, North Carolina. Her mother, Lora, was a teacher, and her father, George Morgan, Jr., was a butcher. She has a younger sister named Terry. When Debbi was a child, her family moved to the Bronx in New York. She graduated from Aquinas High School.
Acting Career
Early Roles and Soap Opera Fame
Debbi Morgan's first movie role was in Monkey Hustle in 1976. She played a character named Vi. She also had early TV roles on shows like What's Happening!! and Good Times.
Her most famous role began in 1982. She played Angie Baxter Hubbard on the soap opera All My Children. Many Black viewers across America loved her portrayal of Angie. Angie and her boyfriend, Jesse Hubbard (played by Darnell Williams), became a very popular couple on daytime TV. In 1989, Debbi won a Daytime Emmy Award for her role. She and Darnell Williams also hosted a music video show together called New York Hot Tracks.
After leaving All My Children, Debbi continued her soap opera career. She played Chantal Marshall on Generations. Later, she returned to play Angie Hubbard on Loving in 1993. She even brought the same character to another show, The City. This made her one of the few actors to play the same character on three different soap operas! In the 1980s and 1990s, Debbi often played successful doctors in her soap opera roles. This made her an inspiration for many.
Moving to Film and Other TV Shows
Debbi Morgan received great reviews for her role as Mozelle Batiste Delacroix in the movie Eve's Bayou (1997). For this role, she won awards like the Chicago Film Critics Association Award and an Independent Spirit Award. After this, she started focusing more on movies. She appeared in films such as She's All That (1999), The Hurricane (1999), Love & Basketball (2000), and Coach Carter (2005). On television, she had roles in shows like The Practice and Boston Public.
From 2002 to 2003, Debbi starred as Lora Gibson in the drama series For the People. She also played the Seer in Charmed. In 2008, Debbi and Darnell Williams returned to All My Children. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2009 and 2011. When All My Children ended, Debbi joined the cast of The Young and the Restless in 2011. In 2013, she even appeared in the online version of All My Children.
Recent Work
In 2013, Debbi Morgan was cast in the drama series Power. She also co-starred in two TV movies, Royal Family Thanksgiving and Royal Family Christmas, in 2015. She played Toni Braxton's mother in the TV movie Toni Braxton: Unbreak My Heart.
In 2017, Debbi appeared in the Marvel miniseries The Defenders. The next year, she had a role in the BET series The Quad. In 2019, she was in the Netflix movie Sextuplets with Marlon Wayans. She also starred with Kelly Rowland in the Merry Liddle Christmas TV movies. In 2021, she joined the cast of Our Kind of People. In 2023, she played Keyshia Cole's mother in the TV movie Keyshia Cole: This is My Story. Critics praised her performance, with one saying she was "magnificent." Debbi was later cast in the movie Divorce in the Black.
Personal Life
Debbi Morgan has been married four times. She does not have any children. She married Charles Weldon in 1980, Charles S. Dutton in 1989, and Donn Thompson in 1997. She has been married to Jeffrey Winston since June 2009.
