Darnell Williams (born March 3, 1955) is a British-born actor famous for his roles in TV soap operas. He is best known for playing Jesse Hubbard on the ABC show All My Children. This role helped him win two Daytime Emmy Awards, which are big awards for TV shows.

About Darnell Williams

Williams was born in London, England. When he was younger, in the mid-1970s, he was a regular dancer on a popular TV show called Soul Train.

Becoming a Soap Opera Star

Darnell Williams started playing Jesse Hubbard on All My Children in 1981. His character, Jesse, fell in love with Angie Baxter (Debbi Morgan). They got married on the show, becoming one of the first African American "supercouples" in American soap opera history. A supercouple is a very popular couple on a TV show that fans love to follow.

Williams won two Daytime Emmy Awards for his acting on All My Children in the 1980s. During that time, he and Debbi Morgan also hosted a dance show called "New York Hot Tracks," which showed music videos.

New Roles and a Big Return

In 1988, Williams left All My Children. He later appeared in other soap operas. He played Jack Durban on As the World Turns from 1994 to 1995. He also played Jacob Foster, a character who looked like Jesse Hubbard, on shows called Loving and The City.

Williams also had a role as a counselor on the TV drama Felicity. He worked behind the scenes too, as a director and acting coach for All My Children.

In 2007, Williams joined the cast of Guiding Light. He also directed an independent film called Manhattanites in 2008.

In January 2008, Williams made a big return to All My Children as Jesse Hubbard. He came back with Debbi Morgan, who played Angie. They even appeared on "Oprah - the Last Season" in 2011.

All My Children ended in September 2011. Williams was one of the longest-serving actors on the show at that time.

After All My Children

In 2012, Williams joined the cast of the CBS show The Young and the Restless. There, he worked again with his All My Children co-star, Debbi Morgan.

He also returned to play Jesse Hubbard in the new online version of All My Children. This new show started on iTunes and Hulu in April 2013.

Williams has also appeared in movies like Sidewalk Stories, Short Cuts, and Simone.
