Darnell Williams was born in London, England. When he was a teenager in the mid-1970s, he was a regular dancer on a popular TV show called Soul Train. This show featured music and dance, and it was a great way for him to start his career in entertainment.
Darnell Williams' Acting Career
Becoming Jesse Hubbard
Darnell Williams started playing the character Jesse Hubbard on the TV show All My Children in 1981. His character, Jesse, fell in love with another character named Angie Baxter, played by Debbi Morgan.
A Special TV Couple
Jesse and Angie eventually got married on the show. This was a very important moment because they became one of the first African American "supercouples" on an American soap opera. A supercouple is a pair of characters whose love story is very popular with viewers.

In September 2011, All My Children ended its run, and Darnell Williams finished his time on the show. At that point, he was one of the longest-serving male actors on the show.
New Adventures in Acting
After All My Children ended, Darnell Williams joined the cast of another CBS TV show, The Young and the Restless, in January 2012. This was exciting because he got to work with his All My Children co-star, Debbi Morgan, again.
In 2013, Williams returned to play Jesse Hubbard once more for a new online version of All My Children. This new show was available on platforms like iTunes and Hulu.

Besides his TV work, Darnell Williams has also appeared in several movies. These include Sidewalk Stories, Short Cuts, and Simone.
In 2017, there was an All My Children reunion on the Home & Family show. Darnell Williams did not attend in person, but footage of him as Jesse Hubbard was shown from a famous wedding scene on All My Children.
