The Academy's First Home
The Academy of Medicine had its first building at 1925 Lovering Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware. This building was very old. It was built in 1815 as a bank.
In 1931-1932, people who wanted to save old buildings moved it. They moved it to stop it from being torn down. They also wanted it to be the new home for the Academy. The Academy used this building until 2006. Then, it moved to its current location in Newark, Delaware.
