Delores Hall's career took off in the world of musical theater. She was one of the first cast members in the Los Angeles version of the musical Hair in 1968. She was famous for her pigtails and for opening the show by singing the song "Aquarius."

After Hair, Hall joined the musical Godspell in 1972. Her performance of the song "Bless The Lord" was so popular that it was known for "stopping the show" every night, meaning the audience would applaud for a very long time.
She also appeared in other musicals, including Dude and Your Arms Too Short to Box with God. For her role in Your Arms Too Short to Box with God, she won a Tony Award. A Tony Award is one of the highest honors an actor can receive for work in a Broadway play or musical.
Hall also starred as the character "Jewel" in the original New York production of The Best Little ... in Texas.
