Delvon Roe's Early Basketball Days
High School Basketball Career
Delvon Roe played basketball at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. During his final year, his team was one of the best in the country. It was ranked in the USA Today Super 25. His team was also considered a top-5 team in the Midwest.
Sadly, Delvon missed the rest of his high school career due to a knee injury. Even with this injury, he was still a highly sought-after player. Experts rated him as a 5-star recruit. He was also ranked as the 24th best player in the nation for his class.
College Basketball Journey
Delvon Roe joined the Michigan State basketball team. He played a big role in the 2008-2009 season. He averaged 18 minutes per game. His team made it all the way to the National Championship Game. Delvon was the only freshman to start in that important game.
As his knee got better, Delvon played even more effectively. He was recognized for his skills. He earned a spot on the Big-Ten All Freshman Team. In his second year, he averaged 6.4 points and 5 rebounds per game. During his third year (2010–2011), he averaged 6.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.
On September 29, 2011, Delvon announced he was ending his basketball career. This was because of ongoing knee pain. He had to miss his senior year of college basketball.
Delvon Roe's Acting Career
After basketball, Delvon Roe pursued his passion for acting. He earned a special degree in acting from Michigan State. He completed this degree in just two years.
Film Roles
Delvon played the character Isaac in the movie Love and Honor. This film was shown at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. It premiered in the United States in 2013.
He also signed on for a film called "Race to Judgement". This movie tells a true story from 1973. It is about the murder of a young Black woman in Howell, Michigan. The story also involves the Ku Klux Klan. Delvon was cast to play Tre, the older brother of the murder victim.
