Denise N. George, also known as Denise George-Counts, is a lawyer from the U.S. Virgin Islands. She also worked as a television news reporter. She served as the Attorney General of the United States Virgin Islands, which is the chief legal officer for the government.
Denise George studied at the University of Maryland, College Park, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in radio, television, and film. Later, she went to Howard University School of Law and received her Juris Doctor degree in 1984. This degree allows someone to practice law.

Important Legal Work
Handling Major Cases
As Attorney General, Denise George was in charge of important legal cases for the U.S. Virgin Islands. One of these cases involved a large financial settlement. In December 2022, a settlement was reached where the Virgin Islands received US$105 million. They also received half of the money from the sale of a private island called Little Saint James. This showed her role in protecting the financial interests of the Virgin Islands.
Lawsuit Against a Bank
On December 27, 2022, Denise George filed a lawsuit in a US federal court in New York City. This lawsuit was against JPMorgan Chase, a major bank. The lawsuit claimed that the bank had helped certain activities and benefited financially from them. This was a significant legal action taken by the Virgin Islands government under her leadership.
