Denzel Dominique Whitaker (born June 15, 1990) is an American actor. He started acting when he was a child. He is known for his roles in movies like Training Day (2001) and Black Panther (2018). He also played James Farmer Jr. in The Great Debaters (2007), which won him an award. On TV, Denzel was on Nickelodeon's All That and has appeared in many other shows.

Denzel Whitaker's Early Life
Denzel Whitaker was born on June 15, 1990. His hometown is Torrance, California. His parents are Younalanda and Dale Whitaker.
He went to Palos Verdes Peninsula High School. But because he was acting a lot, he did his schoolwork by email. This helped him balance school and his acting career.
Denzel was named after the famous actor Denzel Washington. At first, Denzel Whitaker didn't believe this. He even said so on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Later, his dad told him it was true! Denzel Washington later helped him with acting. This happened when they worked together on the movie The Great Debaters.
Denzel Whitaker's Acting Career
Denzel Whitaker started his acting journey in 2001. His first movie role was Dimitri in Training Day. He then became a regular on the popular Nickelodeon show All That. This was during its tenth and final season.
Starring in The Great Debaters
In 2007, Denzel played James Farmer Jr. in The Great Debaters. His acting in this film was highly praised. Critics said he showed "sweetness and vulnerability." Many called him a standout among the younger actors. For this role, Denzel won an NAACP Image Award in 2008. He was also nominated for a Young Artist Award.
Other Film Roles
Denzel played Sheldon in the Disney Channel Original Movie Dadnapped (2009). He was also in the thriller My Soul to Take (2010). In this movie, he played a blind teenager named Jerome. In 2011, he appeared in two more films. He was Gilly in Abduction and Stephon in Warrior.
Later, Denzel played Eddie in the thriller Submerged (2016). He also appeared as a young Zuri in the superhero movie Black Panther (2018).
Television and Voice Acting
Denzel has been in many TV shows. These include ER, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, and Blue Bloods. He also appeared in Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans.
As a voice actor, Denzel voiced Albert in The Ant Bully (2006). He was also Kyle in the preschool series Handy Manny. He voiced Sgt. Gutte in The Boondocks. On Black Dynamite: The Animated Series, he was Donald the Accountant.
Denzel has also worked behind the scenes. He was an assistant voice director for Freaknik: The Musical (2010). He has also directed his own films and music videos.
