Derrick Braxton (born November 25, 1981) is an American music producer and composer. He was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Derrick is well-known for creating music with famous artists. Some of these artists include Lupe Fiasco, Cassidy, and Amerie.

Derrick's Early Music Journey
Derrick Braxton went to Hampton University in Virginia. While he was there, he started meeting other students who loved music. This made him very interested in making music himself.
When he was 19, in 2001, he met a famous producer named Swizz Beatz. This meeting happened at a car show in New York City. Derrick then signed a deal with Swizz Beatz's music company for about two years.
Working with N.E.R.D.
After that, Derrick made friends with the members of the group N.E.R.D. These members were Shae Haley, Chad Hugo, and Pharrell Williams. From 2003 to 2004, he worked with them. N.E.R.D. later signed Derrick to their own music company for two years.
Joining 1st & 15th Entertainment
In 2005, Derrick Braxton met the rapper Lupe Fiasco. They started working together on some of Lupe Fiasco's albums. These albums included "The Cool" and "Food and Liquor."
A few years later, in 2012, Derrick signed a deal with 1st & 15th Entertainment. This company works with Atlantic Records. This was a big step in his music career.
