Derrick Robinson's Baseball Journey
Starting with the Kansas City Royals
Derrick Robinson began his professional baseball journey when he was picked by the Kansas City Royals. This happened in the fourth round of the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft. He was a very good player in the minor leagues. In 2012, he was even named the best left-fielder for the Minor League Rawlings Gold Glove Award team. This award shows he was excellent at fielding.
Playing for the Cincinnati Reds
Before the 2013 baseball season, Robinson signed with the Cincinnati Reds. This was a big step for him. He got to play in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a rookie. He played in 109 games for the Reds that year. After the 2013 season, he became a free agent. This means he could sign with any team he wanted.
Time with the Washington Nationals
On January 23, 2015, Derrick Robinson signed a new deal. He joined the Washington Nationals organization. This was a minor league contract. He became a free agent again on November 6, 2015.
