Desevio Ilan Payne, born on November 30, 1995, is an American soccer player. He plays as a right-back for the Dutch club Koninklijke HFC.
About Desevio Payne
Desevio Payne was born in Greenwood, South Carolina, in the United States. His father is from Trinidad and Tobago, and his mother is from the Netherlands. When Desevio was one year old, his family moved to the Netherlands. He grew up there and later became a soccer player. Desevio has a younger brother, Déron Payne, who is also a soccer player.
His Soccer Journey
Desevio started his professional soccer career on February 22, 2015. His first game was in the Eredivisie, which is the top soccer league in the Netherlands. He played against a team called Heerenveen. Since then, he has played for several clubs, including FC Groningen, Excelsior, and FC Emmen. As of 2021, he plays for Koninklijke HFC.
Playing for His Country
Because of his family background, Desevio could choose to play for the national teams of the United States, Trinidad and Tobago, or the Netherlands. He chose to play for the United States. In 2015, he played for the United States Under-20 team in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup. This is a big tournament for young players from around the world.
