How the Game Works
Destroy Build Destroy was a game show with two teams, usually made up of three teenagers. Teams were often grouped by their interests, like "Skaters vs. Math Club" or "Football Team vs. Marching Band."
The game had a few exciting steps:
- Destroy: First, the teams would use powerful tools like rocket launchers, bazookas, or even explosives to completely destroy a large object. Imagine blowing up an old car or a semi-trailer!
- Build: Next, they had to use the wreckage and other materials to build a brand-new vehicle. These vehicles were designed to compete in a special challenge.
- Compete: The teams would then race their creations or use them in a fun challenge.
- Destroy Again: The winning team received $3,000 and the best part: they got to destroy the losing team's vehicle! If there was a tie, both vehicles would be blown up.
Show History
Destroy Build Destroy first launched on June 20, 2009. It was part of a new group of shows on Cartoon Network called CN Real. The main people behind the show were executive producers Dan Taberski and Scott Messick.
The show quickly became popular. Its second season started on November 4, 2009. It was the top show in its time slot for boys aged 6–11, with about 2.1 million viewers watching each episode!
Because it was so successful, Destroy Build Destroy was brought back for more seasons. The third season began on October 6, 2010. A fourth season was also ordered and aired from June to September 2011.
Episodes and Seasons
The show had a total of 37 episodes over four seasons. Each season featured different challenges and objects to destroy and build.
