Devin Michael Oliver was born on July 2, 1992. He is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for SLUC Nancy in France. Before becoming a professional, he played college basketball for the Dayton Flyers team.
College Career
Devin Oliver played basketball for the Dayton Flyers for four seasons. In his last year, the 2013-2014 season, he was a very important player. He led his team in getting rebounds, which means grabbing the ball after a missed shot. He also led in assists, passing the ball to teammates for scores. He was the second-highest scorer on his team that year.
Professional Career
After college, Devin Oliver was not chosen in the 2014 NBA draft. But he still got a chance to play with the Boston Celtics in the 2014 NBA Summer League. In July 2014, he signed his first professional contract. He joined a team in Belgium called Limburg United.
In August 2015, Oliver moved to Israel to play for Maccabi Kiryat Gat. He left that team in December 2015. In March 2016, he signed with a French team, SPO Rouen Basket, for the rest of that season.
On August 22, 2016, Devin Oliver signed a one-year deal with Union Olimpija in Slovenia. He did very well there! He helped his team win the Slovenian League championship two times, in 2017 and 2018. He was even named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the finals both times. He also won the Slovenian Supercup and the Slovenian Cup in 2017, and was the Supercup MVP. He signed with Olimpija for another season on July 18, 2017.
In July 2018, Oliver joined a Turkish team called Banvit. Then, on January 29, 2019, he signed a short contract with s.Oliver Würzburg in Germany.
Later in 2019, on June 27, he signed a one-year contract with Nanterre 92 in France. On August 3, 2020, Oliver signed a deal with Büyükçekmece Basketbol in Turkey for the 2020-2021 season.
On June 17, 2021, he moved to Japan to play for the Sendai 89ers in the B.League. He then signed with the Yokohama B-Corsairs, another Japanese team, on July 7, 2022. He wore the number 15 jersey for them.
In August 2024, Oliver signed with the Taipei Taishin Mars in Taiwan. However, his contract with them ended on November 27, 2024. He then joined SLUC Nancy in France, where he plays now.
The Basketball Tournament
In the summer of 2017, Devin Oliver played in a special basketball competition called The Basketball Tournament. This tournament is shown on ESPN. He played for a team called the Broad Street Brawlers. He was trying to win a big prize of $2 million! For his team, he grabbed about 9 rebounds in each game. Devin helped his team reach the second round of the tournament. They eventually lost to another team called Team Colorado.
