History of Deweyville
Deweyville began a long time ago, in 1880. When a place is "laid out," it means people planned where the streets and buildings would go. It was like drawing a map for a new settlement.
In the same year, 1880, a post office opened in Deweyville. This was an important place where people could send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years. It stayed open until 1927, when it closed its doors.
