Dexter Jackson's Journey in Bodybuilding
Dexter Jackson started his bodybuilding career in 1992. His first big competition was the NPC Southern States Championship, where he placed third. He became a professional bodybuilder in 1999. That year, he competed in the Arnold Classic, Night of Champions, and Mr. Olympia contests.
Winning the Mr. Olympia Title
In 2008, Dexter Jackson achieved his biggest dream. He won the 2008 Mr. Olympia contest! He beat the reigning champion, Jay Cutler. This made him only the 12th person ever to win this prestigious title. He was also one of the few bodybuilders to win both the Mr. Olympia and the Arnold Classic in the same year.

Dexter continued to win many contests. In 2008 alone, he won the Arnold Classic, the Australian Pro Grand Prix, and the Mr. Olympia. In 2015, he also placed second at the Mr. Olympia, which was his best finish since winning in 2008.

Retirement from Bodybuilding
In 2020, Dexter Jackson announced that the 2020 Mr. Olympia would be his last professional show. He finished 9th in that contest, which was the same place he got in his very first Mr. Olympia in 1999.
